The GCM’s Smithville Mansion team worked their holiday magic yet again, transforming the Double Parlor at historic Smithville Mansion into an elegant Victorian Christmas scene. The theme for this year’s event is “Hezekiah’s Christmas.”
Several GCM members participated in a workshop to create Victorian ornaments for the Christmas tree, and members of the Smithville team put their creative juices to work to find or create the décor for the rest of the room.
The GCM’s decades-old tea
set that was donated to Smithville was pulled out of storage, polished, and placed on display. Come out to Smithville to see the entire room and enjoy as part of your holiday celebration.
GCM will have a tree at Wiley Christian Retirement Community this year for residents to enjoy. GCM members held a
workshop to make decorations for the “Under the Sea” theme.
The Wiley public event is outdoors only and will be held Fri., Dec. 15 from 5:30-7pm before the Evesham Township 1st Annual Holiday Light Parade.
Geoff Smith, who many of us know from The Evesham Historical Society, took time out from his busy schedule to demonstrate holiday arrangements at our December meeting.
Four of our GCM members took home one of the beautiful arrangements to enjoy in their own homes. Everyone received tips on how to cut the greenery, and what plants and shrubs are available locally.
